Initial’s thorough contingency planning for our healthcare waste management services gives you peace of mind

Initial understands your need to feel confident with your clinical waste services provider. This is why we have established one of the largest fleets of ADR compliant vehicles in Ireland for the transport of hazardous waste. All vehicles are fitted with a sophisticated mobile data tracking system that captures collection details and customer signatures at the point of collection and delivery, allowing us to provide complete waste traceability.

The size of the fleet allows Initial to provide scheduled collections within a contract or unscheduled collections upon request. We can also respond rapidly for emergency collections by knowing where our drives are at all times during their working day.

Our service is reliable and carried out by our fully Hazchem trained drivers. They are able to assist and advise customers with queries about the handling and storage of their healthcare risk waste. Each driver is assigned a specific route to allow their customers to develop a good working relationship and feel confident with the service they are being provided with.

In accordance with the requirements laid out in the Waste Management Act 1996, the waste producer must take responsibility for that waste from ‘cradle to grave’. Initial provides such traceability through the use of PDAs by its drivers. The information collected is uploaded onto a Web page which can be accessed through a password-protected portal. The customer is able to view

• Full service history (including treatment cycle)
• Current and future collection status
• Treatment status of the waste collected
• Waste quantities can be downloaded for accurate reporting
